Performance Information

A Christmas Carol will take the stage at The Goss Opera House in Watertown, South Dakota, with four performances over the weekend. We're excited to partner with The Goss to bring this classic Christmas story to life in one of Watertown's most beautiful historic venues.

Performance Dates: December 11 & 12 @7pm, 12 & 13 @2pm

Summary

This swift adaptation of the Christmas classic remains true to the original story by incorporating portions of the Dickens novella not usually seen on the stage or screen. Infused with a myriad of popular Christmas carols and a subtle twist of contemporary humor, the morality tale of Ebenezer Scrooge is once again alive with holiday spirit in Jacqueline Goldfinger’s smart adaptation full of holiday cheer.

WHAT TO EXPECT

New to Auditions? You're Welcome Here.

What should I prepare?

Auditioning doesn't have to be intimidating.

Our goal is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where you can relax, have fun, meet other theater people, and show us what you can bring to the production.

You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. Just come ready to have a good time.

The auditions will include cold readings from the play, along with warm-up games and other acting exercises designed to help us see how you collaborate, play, and connect with others in the room. You will be in safe hands throughout the process.

Before You Audition

Please Come Prepared With:

- Your contact information.

- Your availability and known scheduling conflicts.

- A list of any conflicts during the rehearsal and performance period.

- Previous theater experience, if applicable.

- A willingness to jump in and have some fun.

Before you arrive, please fill out the online audition form. If you are unable to complete it ahead of time, a paper copy will be available at the audition.

No previous theater experience is required.

Rehearsals and Performance Commitments

Before accepting a role, actors should be prepared to commit to the production's rehearsal schedule, tech rehearsals, and performances.

Rehearsals

Rehearsal Period:
October – December

Rehearsals will run 2–3 times per week, depending on cast availability.

A detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided following casting.

We understand that people have work, school, family, and other commitments. That's why it's important to list all known conflicts on your audition form so they can be considered during casting and scheduling.
